SafeCheck is Via Travel’s SMS check-in service that allows admins and group leaders to send SMS text messages to travelers at any time. In order for a SafeCheck message to be sent to a traveler, the traveler must first enroll in SafeCheck; if a traveler does not enroll in SafeCheck, they cannot be sent a SafeCheck message. When enrolling in SafeCheck, Via verifies that the phone number is a valid mobile phone number.
Admins can send SafeCheck messages from either the Via Travel Travelers view or the Who's Going table view.
To send a message from the Via Travel Travelers view…
- Click Via Travel in the main navigation menu
- Click Travelers view
- Select the desired Traveler(s) by checking the box next to their name(s)
- Click Actions
- Click SafeCheck from the dropdown
- Select the desired SafeCheck message
- If desired, Add a LocationCheck
- If desired, send SafeCheck content as an email
- Click Send SafeCheck Message
- Click View SafeCheck Responses to view the specific SafeCheck message and responses
To send a message from the Via Travel Who's Going table…
- Click Via Travel in the main navigation menu
- You will land on the Plan view
- Click the name of any Plan to navigate to that specific plan
- Toggle to the table view
- Select the desired Traveler(s) by checking the box next to their name(s)
- Click Actions
- Click SafeCheck from the dropdown
- Select the desired SafeCheck message
- If desired, Add a LocationCheck
- If desired, send SafeCheck content as an email
- Click Send SafeCheck Message
- Click View SafeCheck Responses to view the specific SafeCheck message and responses
SafeCheck messages will only be sent to Travelers with an enrolled and verified mobile phone number.
