Do synced data appear on Traveler forms?

Forms can be edited by Travelers and Admins. Travelers can edit their Form only if it’s in the Not Started or Started status, whereas admins can edit Traveler Forms in any status.

If an organization has a custom integration with their student information system and and Admin has requested one or more synced fields on a Form, when a Traveler starts a Form, neither they nor the Admin will be able to edit those fields in Via.

Synced fields are always read-only and grayed out in Via.

If a synced field needs to be updated, the Traveler, or an Admin on their behalf, must navigate to their student information system to update the field there.

Synced data on a Form is retrieved from Traveler Info in the Traveler’s profile. Synced data will continue to update from profile to Form regardless of the Form status.

To request a data update to a Traveler's profile data, Admins can click Manual Data Request from within the Traveler Profile. This will trigger a request to the Admin's home campus to send data for that particular Traveler. Via makes the request immediately, however, depending on the home campus IT set up, the data can take 1-2 hours or longer to update.
